If you were a student of history, and a student of Saddam, you would know that he never succumbed to nobody. If he aired the anti Saudi stuff, it was because he saw it as being in his own interest to do so.

At the same time bin Laden was beckoning Saddam into action against the troops in Saudi Arabia. He took no action with respect to that suggestion by bin Laden. That should tell you far more about Saddam then you have been able to ascertain to this point.

No? How terribly unresponsive you are. Cat got your tongue?

You remind me of that Monty Python black night that gets his arms and legs cut off and finally he's just a head shouting for his nemesis to "come back and fight".

Face it, this war is a loser, Bush has spent all of our money, destroyed our military and we have no exit strategy. All this other BS you are arguing about here - what Osama said or didn't say is just BS. Osama and Saddam were never aligned in any way. Saddam was the US's best ally in that region whether we knew it or not, and the people of Iraq were much better off with him, and surveys are saying as such. Maybe there is a way the US can REINSTALL Saddam? Now THERE is an exit strategy. Might work as long as we get rid of Bush forever.

Are you the original Dan B. responding. The Dan B. who said wad a Liberatarian? Not only your views are 180 degrees out of sync from what you said six months ago, but your style of writing has changes also.

So now you want to attack the messenger? I still call it as I see it. I think anyone can see that this is the same Dan B. who has been occasionally writing on S.I. since, oh, '98 or so. The same Dan B. who once attempted to whip Neocon's butt on the Libertarian thread concering Marijuana and Drug Legalization.

You remain terribly unresponsive, IMHO, Re my: "Saddam personally approved of a meeting with Osama, and then after it, while certainly then knowing Osama sought an "operational relationship," succumbed to Osama's request to air specific propaganda. Perhaps you genetically can't process it when told that Osama said not long after this meeting (I paraphrase): "My job is to get help with our mission, and I've succeeded." "

And, maybe the fact that some of our guys died in Saudi Arabia not long after the quoted above took place, isn't worthy of noting. I just can't imagine why, if so.
