John, you might do well to consider why it is that a consistent criticism here and elsewhere of your response style is that you often fail to directly engage the issue under consideration, especially when your assumptions are challenged, then describe a response calling for you to do so as a "personal attack" or something similar. No, this is not a personal attack, simply an observation. If you simply dealt directly with the points made instead of dismissing them with a wave of a hand, you would avoid a lot of the strife you suggest others cause. I hope this may explain things a bit. It is simply my observation over the years. PS: Karen is probably the single most polite poster at SI. She does not engage in "personal attacks."
