This is a lie (or complete ignorence). The "plan" is to encourage competition and growth in the marketplace. He (like most republicans) have faith in America and believe we can prosper without turning into a more socialist place. Kenny-view says you must punish those who contribute to the economy and give handouts to folks of his choosing. When I read things like this I have to ask if Republicans pay attention to what is actually happening rather than what they think they stand for. This administration created a massive new prescription drug benefit entitlement (socialism??) that is going to cost five times the original estimate and is available to EVERYONE on Medicare. This administration has allowed pork at a record rate, including earmarks for silly, nonsensical home town projects that, when exposed, even the sponsor feels bad about. Pork is socialism in a different form. Giving the "folks back home" some kind of entitlement, be it a new library for the history of garlic or a new highway to nowhere. As for free trade, Bush is the steel tarif guy....anyone remember that? Domestic spending, (and I mean discretionary spending) is way up, much higher as a percentage increase than under democratic administrations. This president chooses to take no action on even the worst bills...no vetos. Allowing deficit financing of junk projects does not improve America's competitive position..it hurts it. Republicans can't run on their record in this area. It stinks.
