I believe most states have an Insurance Dept. that can tell you what plans are available in your state and even what plans among those would be the most cost effective, given the prescriptions you are taking. Although, I agree that if you are not comfortable making calculations on premiums and co-pays it would be confusing.

Re: "I will find the links on the rate of domestic spending increase. I know others have posted here. Buddy?"

Thus far, *discressionary spending* has increased 49% faster under Bush II, then it did in the eight years of Clinton's two terms (annualized rate of increase).

The numbers are widely available, and the increased rate of spending reported by C.B.O., O.M.B., CATO, Heritage, Concord Coalition, etc.

"The President is the one person in government who can make a massive imprint on spending by the use of the pen...if he wants to."

Believe Bush II just set a record for 'length of time without VETOing anything. He recently became the longest-sitting president since Thomas Jefferson not to exercise his veto, surpassing James Monroe.

Thanks for the feedback. You certainly seem to be much closer to the drug plan, and since I am still a few years away from being a senior I have not studied it too hard. From recent news reports I have heard it is not nearly as hard for seniors to figure out as the dems portray it. But imo they can only focus on the negative and seem to think that everyone is dumber than they are. I think it is something in the range of 5% can't figure it out and 15% or so are having trouble but not completely lost. The dems don't want to help anyone figure anything out (excpet for encouraging hatred of our President and how to fight against the administration in the war on terror).

"I can't believe better, leaner, legislation would not have been returned to him if he had sent a message that he is not "a rubber stamp"."

Maybe. But the dems will attack anything he proposes regardless if it is good for the country or their constituents. Being proud of keeping SS in it's current situation is a good example. Even when our national security is at stake they will side with those who oppose the President. In the war on terror that is Saddam, the Taliban, OBL, Zarqawi, Hamas, etc., etc. I am sure I could dig up quite a few quotes that come from our "leaders" like Ted Kennedy that if not attributed to them would look like they are directly from our enemy. Just calling our President incompetent and dishonest is way out of line and they go way further than that. No soultions, no working together. Nothing except venom and hatred. Disgusting imo.

Anyway, nice to have a conversation with someone who actually converses. Rare on this thread.

Much of the "nightmare" portion of the plan, COULD have been remedied IF the #&$&#*(# Insurance Companies had a formulary anyone could easily understand. Instead of all the categories, and partial fills etc, it should have just been: HERE IS WHAT WE COVER, HERE IS WHAT WE DON'T.
