Not that anybody would tell me

Not that they could produce such proof - it is mythical. There was an explosion of occultic societies in the 17th-19th centuries based on "Egyptian" and "Kabbala" rituals. The oldest that I know of are the Rosicrucians, originating from the novel Fama Fraternitatus in 1610.

True, women can't join Masons. BUT there are several groups for women who are of Masonic descent.....Order of the Eastern Star (both men and women), International Order of Job's Daughters (for young 12-20-ish y/o women), International Order of Rainbow Girls (same type age groups for young women...)

i don't think catholic church is pissed off at them, first i ever heard that statement.

I believe part of the ceremony to become a mason is to denounce the infallability of the pope. If you take that position in the old days and are catholic then you basically give up your catholic beliefs but so much has changed it seems anyone can be anything they want to call themselves from day to day. all regulations, rules seem to be put aside and folks make up their own. The churches may have changed little but the congregations certainly make up their religious practices.
