"I feel sorry for the state that they are in but I also hold the leaders of Mexico and Central America responsible."

In general, I agree. However, it seems like one factor in the recent flood is that US farmers, who are subsidized, are selling corn into Mexico and undercutting the Mexican farmers by quite a bit.

Re: In a large museum in Mexico City, there is a huge mural........in the mural, they show the whitest, the most European people at the top, the darkest...the indian mestizos......at the bottom. That gives you a sense of how...

...ALL American societies work!

Re: So while I feel sorry for the mestizos that come here.........we should be making their gov't responsible for them, not the US.

LOL... You made my day! US crusaders took the trouble to travel half way around the world to nation-build "failed states" like Afghanistan and Iraq... The US government deemed it necessary to occupy Iraq with 150,000 troops, and set up horrific torture complexes such as Abu Ghraib... In short, the US feels responsible for managing Iraq, Afghanistan, maybe even Iran!! But it doesn't want to meddle in next-door Mexico?!??!?!! Just as Israelis repress the existence of their Palestinian neighbors, so do Americans sweep their Mexican problem under the carpet....
