" think we all know who the primary ring leaders are Noel. That's kind of a no brainer.

It's where they are located at, SPECIFICALLY, that is the question."

That's a no brainer too.

"Do you really believe the CIA, DIA, and other unamed groups are NOT dedicating every possible asset possible to find Bin Laden and the rest of the AQ Senior Leadership?"

Neither you nor I know what an increased effort at the secret agency level would accomplish or whether they have been requested and denied. Since resources are thin in Afghanistan I believe that they are also thin at the secret agency level.

"You have convinced many of these corrupt and teetering regimes that they can return to the previous status quo because America doesn't have the will to push them for cooperation and reform."

Flattery will get you nowhere with me.(I think that Groucho Marx wrote a version of that)

"The only reason people don't express the desire that their government should be accountable to their needs is because they have been coerced and intimidated by the powers that be, to keep their mouths shut and not subvert the political power of the ruling elite (tribal, religious, or state based)."

If your preferred method is to coerce the powers that be to reform then of course one has to go into these countries to "convert" them. My preferred method is to convince the powers that be to reform via support to those that promulgate democratic freedoms.

"And it is our job, if not our obligation, to advance democratic reforms in order to define who are our friends, and who are our enemies."

I always thought that the reason to advance democratic reforms is because that form of government is best for the greatest number of citizens.
