Please note that they're going to need to move from mostly single to mostly dual core (takes twice the space), larger caches (makes chips bigger), and (thanks to SiGe) lower yields, which is going to use up a very big portion of that increment in capacity.

combine that with google's operating system, the next big thing will be the replacement of wintel with googamd.

I know you are trying to joke but this is happening. The shift afoot now in most all apps, consumer and business is the hosted model which relegates the PC operating system to more menial tasks. The best servers are AMD servers, they run GOOG and others.

This is probably the largest really huge paradigm shift I have been through as an investor and I can see how hard they are to spot. Pretty much everyone evaluates success on the prior winner's terms. That would be wintel. But the PC OS and PC in general are losing their sheen in favor of the big datacenter again.
