That theory doesn't wash. Australian employees of American corporations have to comply with American bribery laws. If they fail to do so they can be imprisoned or fined just as if they were Americans.

American jails contain a vast number of foreign nationals who mistakenly didn't believe US laws applied to them.

The simple fact is, growth in the "fast food" market is all outside of the US as the market in America is over-saturated.
