Citing Zhang Weiqing, minister in charge of the National Population and Family Planning Commission, the report said China's population will probably stop growing in about 30 years. China's population reached 1.308 billion as of the end of last year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Zhang said China has succeeded in controlling the population growth by about 400 million, and said China will "unswervingly implement" the family planning policy, the report said.
