I like Crichton and Rand but more than novelists or philosophers they are salesman and need to elaborate on their pitch to make a sale. I spend quite a bit of time in so called nature as part of my work - civilization protects us from nature. Ever been chased by a bear? Ever been in minus 40 weather? You might appreciate civilized amenities if you got out more.
