i agree...

but 'due process' being 'key'

if the state legislatures pass these idiotic (though not non-constitutional) laws, and they are upheld...

your recourse is to move to a location with less onerous laws...

once that happens in sufficient number, (inadequate revenues to support silly legislation) the lawmakers then rescind or revise the onerous laws in an attempt to lure the ex-pats back to the state....

may be too little, too late, but oh well..

btw...

was just watching a round table discussion on the issue on cnbc, and my point is as an employer, if ALL i am going to assigned is a $250/per employee 'penalty' for not providing coverage, i'm all for it...

right now i spend about $500/month per employee...

big incentive for me to drop coverage <gg>
