Yousef,

>> But I would expect that the 65nm/90nm processes from IBM will be running on IBM "dictated" equipment set.

Would the fabled APM (from AMD) be effective in this case ? To me, coming from a position of total ignorance in the subject, it seems that AMD's great success with fab 30 far exceeds the norm. And it coincided with some Intel mis-steps, and some unexpected PC market preference for hardware (64 bit) for which very little software exists.

The result has been a shift of share from Intel to AMD. The obvious question is whether this is a continuing fundamental trend, or a limited-run process ? The stock market is treating it as a trend-in-infancy. I think a reversion to the mean is more likely, where AMD's yields , ramp rate, and occasional mis-steps will slow this trend of market share shift. Along with improved Intel chips, and better production balance.

By the way, do you think Intel has achieved parity with their new controe woodcreat chips, or still lagging behind AMD ?

For sure it looks to me that AMD will have lower utilization in their now 3 fabs compared to what they had in the one fab 30. For at least the remainder of '06.
