Maybe leaking and authorizing the leak are two different issues. Cheney will be the fall guy if the facts are true.. He will not let the president go down.

We had this discussion before and determined the President can declassify what he wants, if I recall. But the political impact from finding out that Bush was SHOCKED! at the Plame outing, vowed to find the leaker then actually may have authorized it himself, is political dynamite. I am not sure that is what this looks like. It will be fun to follow the news the next 24 hours.
