(g) By the way in Friedmans column he also alluded to a news blurb running on the bottom of bagdad tvs from the govt telling the people not to trust any soldiers or listen to them unless their were american advisors with them. It seems militias and ordinary criminals have the same uniforms and are using them to kill and intimidate iraqis.

He said Bush should start leaning on them heavily, give them deadlines and threaten to withdraw the troops if they don't comply.

and how do you know that bush thru diplomacy and back channels hasn't been saying that privately, where it should be for now
