1 million voted for the higher rate, "for the children".
But only 527 contribute at that higher rate. I guess the other 999,973 people have now joined the other voters in starving the children.

It doesn't really have anything to do with hypocrisy- it has everything to do with the human aversion to being a martyr, and with a lack of trust in others- and clearly, a warranted lack of trust. People are willing to suffer, but usually only if everyone else is suffering too.

lol...

wow...

such conviction...

of course it does...

(has to do with hypocrisy)

how about charitable giving? frankly i consider the majority of my taxation (transfer payments) to be 'charitable extortion (giving)'

but...

willingly...

i give to certain charities knowing full well that there a millions of people who do not share my conviction...and give their 'fair share'

but that doesn't stop me from contributing to what i consider worthy causes...

so are the 'children' worthy or not?

oh and btw...

define

"fair"

Voluntary" doesn't result in everyone paying their "fair" share. Even liberals know that.

hint:

from those according to their ability, to those according to their need....

now those 'needy' folks...

are they the 'free riders'? or are they the smart ones unwilling to support them? your post doesn't exactly make that clear
