Better learn to pay below minimum. Just an aside to this discussion, but is this an advocation of commission based pay? I am considering a plan like this now for my workers. In summary, I would drop the base pay down and then pay a commission for jobs successfully completed, based on size and complexity with a customer service factor. Gets workers motivated to do jobs, not drive around town slowly on $3/gal. gas and stretch things out on a job to get the hours in on the timecard. It is not common in my industry, but I am definitely seeking ways to reduce labor costs.
