You think it's all going to downloads?

only 40% of the country has broadband. Growing like crazy, but still...

Compression problems that I keep reading they've solved, but see no hard evidence of yet.

How does media shift to a new distribution platform and keep the old income sources flowing as they switch over?

Finally, it looks to be the same old product; just coming at us over the internet is all that's new. You're still gonna be stuck to your TV. It'll just be connected to the net

Not enough creative destruction for me yet.

No porn in our little video store. Just mainstream videos and gift items, specializing in stuff like military motif coffee cups and lighters because the owner's husband flies a helicopter in Iraq.

We are indeed experiencing creative destruction in our tiny little bedroom community. The 83 year old lady who publishes our bi-weekly paper may soon be going out of business. Somebody else started publishing a competitive paper a few months ago, and she lost advertising revenue that was helping her to break even. I dread that we will lose both her and the paper, because the paper is keeping her active and alive in the community. She is also a conservative voice, and sells conservative books in her book store. I'm not too sure about the competitor.

I'm all for competition, but it doesn't have to be heartless.
