Some people never figure it out. The date of BOST's chapter 11 filing was known weeks in advance but people were still buying the shares. Happens all the time, look at enron and wcom.

When will the Wall Street sheep figure it out? Over the weekend Vosilla I watched this miniseries on Scifi about MERLIN. He took excalibur from that fool uther. He kept trying to beat into that fools head how to be a smart ruler, but uther didn't want to hear it. Some lessons have to be learned the hard way - if at all! Like gordon gecko said, sheep are only good for slaughter. I think that is true for many sheep - even IF the media did thier job, the gubbment thiers - they just wouldn't pay attention. Oprah could get on her show and start burning the flag and people would just turn the channel to martha stewart or fear factor. Not a discounting mechanism anymore or are some of us mad fools for betting against the ponzi scheme even at this late stage? Vosilla in the borg hive - images.google.com If the hive ship is heading for the middle of a sun - and you and I know the end is near - but can't convince the rest of the borg to alter course - does it matter really what we know personally - don't we all go down - even the smart enlightened ones? If the country/world descends into anarchy, chaos, and destruction - where can you flee too? Mars? This is one of the main things I think the goldbugs forget to consider - they are part of a huge collective - of laws and rules and officers and finance people etc etc and hording gold is not going to allow them to disconnect and survive outside of this collective - if the titanic sinks - everybody goes down - gold horders too. General Chen thinks he is going to beat the coming taxes by selling in california and buying in berlin - but everything I have read is that germany is having entitlement problems too - and when the poor get hungry - those wizards up in the ivory towers are the first to go down eh? He thought to flee - when the problem is global - there is not many places to fly too? You think the 'sheep on the street' even read this board, Ben Jones's board or talk to realtors anymore? If they haven't become an investment SI junkie after 10 years of being on the net - they never will. Why did you wait til 2004 to come here? I was seeking knowledge - thinks they would not teach me of in college (hehe sting) and there seemed to be lots of chummy folks here sharing memes. What investment discussion boards do you like better than SI? Buyers strike again this weekend on existing single family down here with real people living in these homes. Condo market is already a disaster as most built in the last year still sit empty and tons of new stuff still going up. As the money flows - the loans grow - when the money stops the loans will drop. Why keep reserves at all? My payday loan friends in GA showed me how with just a little bit of money you could grow a vast and wealthy empire in a very short time with just in time influxes of cash to be loaned back out to others - but the flip side is that massive empire was taken out in less than a year - the world leaders are going to have to smooth out the decline or chaos will reign - many don't think that is possible - we shall see.
