I observed from your exchange with him that there is little point in debate. He has a belief system and those observations that conflict with his beliefs are disregarded. This is precisely where I get frustrated with religion. Anytime beliefs get priority over observations it bothers me. I have very few beliefs because I want a large and varied set of observations before I begin to believe anything. There is nothing where discovery of a new set of observations could not change my mind. That is the scientific method. Anyway, I will take some of my own advice and get a grip and move on.
