Here's why you're wrong on the above statement. Carter learned from his mistakes, i.e., the Iranian Hostage Crisis. In response to what happened in Iran, Carter made huge advances to fund US government efforts to obtain alternative energy sources. Had he been reelected America even would have seen fuel celled batteries come into play. Had Carter been reelected we would not be in Iraq today!

But Reagan got the presidential nod and he quickly dismantled the US government's funding of alternative energy, instead opting for the GOPwinger favorite: O-I-L !!!

I put Reagan right up there with the younger Bush as among the worst presidents. After all, it was Reagan who--for political manipuation purposes--created the 'angry white man' that served to divide the country as we know it today. And Republican 'southern strategy' politics took its course.
