Don't you think Carter's alternative energy programs would have been useful today? Reagan certainly didn't implement any, instead he dismantled what Carter attempted to do.

Liberals shouldnt dismiss reagan and conservatives shouldnt dismiss FDR. Right now FDR ahead because the scope of the crisis--war and depression, he had to deal with. 20 years from now Reagan may move up further but i dont think the cold war and an occasional recession gives him the same degree of difficulty that folks like FDR, Lincoln and Washington had. Its like olympic diving to me. None of this diminishes what reagan did.
