LOL, another piece of Toronto scum muddies the beautiful local waters.

I've been here 30 years, so I am now an official local.

OT: Coach

Every summer growing up in Victoria we spent as much time as possible on our various sailboats. It's a beautiful place for yachting about. If you're a bit adventurous you can easily work your way up the Inside Passage to some amazing spots with very little exposure to the mighty Pacific Ocean along the way.

I am seriously considering showing up at the dock for a free sail as I am into sailing as well. I also just got a place on Dallas Road in Fairfield. I take possession May 1st. There REALLY goes the neighborhood

Tip for blending in as a long-time Victorian.

Wear sandals (with socks) year-round.
Wear baggy clothes (no creases ironed in pants).
Grow hair long enough to wear in ponytail OR do not shave for 2 or 3 days.
While in Oak Bay, drive 20 mph in all 30 mph zones. Everywhere else drive 40 mph.

I think I'm missing a few things but this will be a start.
