It is not and will not be established that Bush would have taken us to war in Iraq absent 911. However, in '91 removing Saddam meant moving on Baghdad, and in '98 Clinton signed on to the notion of needing to remove Saddam at some point. Iraq had been a concern for some time, and contemplating taking it out was simply the responsible thing to do.

God forbid what would have happened if we had not struck out at Hitler, though Hitler had not attacked us. I've said it before, so don't be surprised if American Democrats and Europe including France and Germany, support an action in Iran in due time, hopefully soon enough, if required.
