Not so, Gib.
As in a symphony orchestra, every instrument has its unique role. El Matador's home base is in the world's largest producer of ethanol and he sees very clearly how large a role ethanol will get to play and most of the rest of us underestimate this trend so he, a base player, reminds us of ethanol's importance.
I, the piccolo, would like to advise gold fans to calculate the current ratio of Canadian Natural Resources and/or Canadian Oil Sands Trust prices to that of gold, the numerators and the denominators all to be in the same currency. Then recalculate these ratios a year from now. See whether you made any money in oil terms.
Advantages of gold: 50-60 years from now it will still be there.
The oil will all be out of the ground and sold.
Advantages of the said oil sands stocks: Every year they pay dividends, no costs of storage as for gold.
Hear my treble notes along side of Elmat's base notes for ethanol?
Good luck all.
