I think citizens own a country and that should be specifically apportioned much as shareholders own companies. Countries which have produced high value would be owned by the descendants of those whose ancestors have done good things which create high value. Those who lived like chimps would find there is not much of value. Politicians coming up with dopey value-reducing ideas would find the share price dropping and shareholders, aka citizens, would soon turf them out. If importing another million low-ability Mexican would enhance the USA, then that would be done with enthusiasm. I suspect it would not enhance the USA's value. Numbers alone doesn't add value. Look at Bangladesh for example. They have the numbers. India does too, but what a poverty stricken place. Check out any number of African countries. Undocumented Americans would have to do what mother says or leave home. American children aren't state property which "leaves home". Your analogy with your upbringing is understandable, but my offspring are not your property to order around in the way that pleases you. Even if they are: <... 18 year olds [who] WASTE two years of their lives working at low-paying, post-high school, jobs, before they ever get to technical school or college, and most lack any real skills. > You and Geode, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, ... birds of a feather. It is fun to find something in common between you and Geode. One person's waste of two years is another's huge golf holiday. Mqurice
