That's why it really angers me when they make the decision to just abolish FEMA because it has so many problems. They think the answer is to just get rid of them?

FEMA was a close to perfect government operation under the Clinton administration...and that fact was echoed by GWB during the last debates. Yet he, bush, took it upon himself to fire the most effective manager they ever had and replace him with a horse committee attorney person with absolutely NO experience, and allowed Brownie, (whom he thought was doing such a great job) to destroy an entire culture and lose over a 1000 lives and communities for bush's petty cronyism. all at the cost of America and the culture of NOLA and the loss of respect of the rest of the world for our own ability to handle an emergency that was forecast for almost a week.
