I don't know about the timing of his conversion from the bottle to the Bible, but it's clear that he, and the rest of the Republican party understand their base. It's pretty amazing when you think of the only time that a special session of Congress was called. Was it in response to the war in Iraq? Was it in response to the Katrina disaster? Was it in response to a terrorist threat? Was it in response to Social Securtity reform? No...it was to inject their "morality" to the Schaivo family in Florida. Bush left the ranch and flew to Washington to sign last minute federal legislation over the Schaivo family's wishes. Did they do this for Terri? Or did they do it for their base? Orca
