Brinker is going on about how the I-Bond inflation component will be adjusted down tomorrow for the next 6 months. I don't really get his reasoning though. CPI inflation seems higher than he is claiming.

TIPS.....SNS....You'll have to explain to me some day how you keep track of TIPS rates...

I gave up long time ago...IMHO data few and far between..very difficult to put together.....REAL rate easy enough to track on Treasury Websites....but translating that to nominal rates...on a current basis....quite another matter.

The TIPS chart you posted is an ETF, and of course it's a price chart..telling you nothing about yield....And how that 6+% yield figure was estimated is a complete mystery to me....surprised me too...

Also btw TIPs have a complicated tax treatment which turned off any interest on my part. Increase of principal due to inflation adjustment is considered ordinary income. taxable at ordinary income rates....CURRENTLY.....whether or not the bond is sold or redeemed ...Well....thank you for that generous gratitude to buyers of your debt, Uncle Sam !!...I'll take a walk on that !!....LOL
