Frist was trying to buy our votes with our own money, or actually, by borrowing 10 billion more and charging us for it. The correct way of doing this would be to hit the oil companies with either windfall profits taxes of about 50 billion (which they can easily afford) then pass tough regulations on energy suppliers to police gouging. Also good for oil prices would be to end the Iraq War, quit talking about bombing Iran and to push conservation and fuel efficiency in a big way.
