I guess it is a matter of degree. I think we are letting others deal with North Korea by insisting on multiparty negotiations only. I would maintain our treaty with South Korea but all we need there is one nuclear sub and a liason office.

Same with Iran. Let Europe , Russia, China deal with it. We will end up in Iraq with a base , airpower, special forces and probably about 20-50000 troops like Afghan.

So I am not talking isolationism. Just let others who are more at risk taket he lead and we will not always be on the firing line and doing all the talking and taking all the responsibility.
