And then there are the lower middle class and poor Americans who got aced out of a job at your complex because they demand a living wage [for CA] of $15 per hour.

$15 per hour is the "living wage"? At that rate if they work a 10 hour day that's $150 per day, and at 6 days per week $900 per week, and four weeks per month $3,600 per month. Damn!

People out here start at $200 per month plus food and shared accomodation, 6 days a week, 9-10 hours per day. Your California living wage is 18x their salary. That's amazing. Cost of living here is probably ~60%-70% of what it is in California.

And you may not believe it, but there are tons of "illegal tourists" here from India/Pakistan/Sri Lanka/Philippines/etc looking for those jobs, and having trouble finding them.

Illegals dont cost 50 billion a year. Who told you that?
Maybe they do cost billions, but a lot less than that. Plus almost every illegal works like a dog. They don't sit around waiting for hand-outs.

Anyway let's face it, if you need to hire a gardener's assistant, maid and ditch-digger for $12,000 a year each with no benefits, where else can you go?

And if you want to place blame, Bush is the one defending the corporate boss's need for cheap illegal Mexican labor. All those pretty Republican golf courses and gated communities, guess who makes them so pristine? Not to mention how much more our produce would cost, etc. etc.
