Thanks Hawkmoon.
I appreciate that response.
There appears to have been evidence that the information to get the UN on side as well as a compliant congress was cooked and perhaps once again is being cooked!....and that lots of other International laws was well as US laws are being deliberately broken in the "war on terror" ...surely you agree there is some truth to this?

I can understand that a nation such as the US is now desperate to control the sources and transportation routes re oil which is now becoming a scarce resource (in hind sight it is to bad the energy policies created under Carter's Administration were not adhered to by the next administration ..continuity seems to be a unique problem with so called democratic governments)..think where we could be now with the US leading the way in conserving energy use and new energy related technologies rather then hanging on to and having to defend the oil fueled economy.

So now we go to war over oil at a great cost in life and limb and at a great risk of another century of wars of attrition and good sensible people like ourselves arguing about a fait accompi!!

Personally I think its to late for reason to prevail In the present US Civil (Interesting word in this context) Government's Position (its our way or the Highway) and only a military coupe in the US will allow communication with the so called adversary in Iran..Their Military leader(s) as I understand it have publicaly said they are not on side with there present leader as to his threats which in fact would make them a bluff!.

Any Merit in this at all?

Arni

"Because every decision he's made, thus far, has strong basis in international law and the UN Charter."

You just KEEP spouting this lie! OVER and OVER! Kofi Annan, Head of the UN, called Bush's invasion of Iraq "illegal"!

news.bbc.co.uk

So, exactly HOW was it sanctioned by the UN? Because the chimp Caesar SAID it was?
