"And we know that to some extent the military doesn't really care for Bush."

That shouldn't be relevant. Military officers take an oath to defend the Constitution. Whether or not they like a particular individual should not be important.

This is why Ollie North should have faced a Court Marshall. His statement about supporting his President was grounds. As an officer, his duty was not to the president, but to the Constitution. Granted, he was forced into retirement over it, but that really wasn't enough.

Yes, you're right he probably wouldn't be able to get the military to back him. I was just saying he would investigates the possibilities of doing it. What wouldn't surprise me is if he does get impeached, censured, or indicted is that he will take it to the supreme court. They would have given him anything a few years ago maybe now one of the 5 right wingers can see what kind of person he and his cronies really are and what they are doing to tear apart what democracy we have. Just hope there aren't more than 4 supreme'ers who are like him.

Can the supreme court overturn an impeachment on constitutional grounds? I'm sure gonzales will say they can.
