If you've followed this fight, you probably know that there is bad blood between the two that has existed for months. Cole got very ad hominish, calling Hitchens a drunk, not that it was perhaps justified since Hitchens labeled him an apologist for the Iranian wackjobs. I think Cole is nuts, and that Hitchens plays him like a top. This time, Hitchens may have cost Cole his Yale job, which will put the poor Talibani student at a terrible disadvantage. Why Yale wants Cole while the Talibani brouhaha is still fresh is incomprehensible to me.
