EVERY TIME this those "big oil whores" have tried to expand energy exploration/exploitation within US borders, they've faced absolute resistance from morons like you... Take, for example, ANWR. All of your moronic leftists have claimed WITHOUT BASIS that ANWR would destroy a pristine environment and place endangered species at risk, despite the fact that the actual physcial "footprint" by exploration companies would be minimal. You've BLATANTLY IGNORED REALITY and asserted FALSELY that endangered species like the Porcupine Caribou would be wiped out. The reality is that since production commenced on the North Slope, the Porcupine Caribou population has actually INCREASED since the period PRIOR to the building of the Alaska pipeline, primarily due to herds locating their birthing sites near these production facilities, where predators are afraid to approach. The population has faced fluctuations, and is not nearly as large as it was during the 80's, at which point the population was approximately DOUBLE the population prior to drilling. Decreases may be due to overgrazing, or as the following study asserts, global warming.. Who knows.. But there are more of them than there were prior to drilling being carried out. And those oil companies are going to do whatever is necessary to avoid the political fallout that might result if those herds decline further.ecoinfo.ec.gc.ca Secondly, I'm ALL IN FAVOR of moving AGGRESSIVELY to hydrogen as our primary energy source. But we have a major problem because of @sshole leftists like you... Because to economically produce the mass quantities of hydrogen necessary to replace gasoline as the fuel of choice, we're going to need nuclear energy to provide the electricity required for electrolysis. But none of your @ssholes want the US to build new nuclear reactors, even if they are of extremely safe "pebble bed" design that are practically immune from the danger of "meltdowns". But it's apparently good enough for China to aggressively pursue:wired.com lists.ibiblio.org whyfiles.org If we're going to have a hydrogen economy, then we need large quantities of relatively cheap and reliable electricity to facilitate that transition. So maybe people like you should shut your pieholes up and let that happen. Hawk
