You should quit demonizing social programs (good government as opposed to corrupt pro-corporate gouging Bush government) and get real. The results are in, pal. Clinton created surpluses Bush has given us the biggest deficits in history And the fault is not social programs. Those the people paid for. The fault it corporate greed, Bush tax cuts, deregulation, privatization and an attitude where corps can take as much as they want and will never be punished. Clinton was not perfect, but Bush is abyssmal. The worst ever. Time for Republicans to admit the myth they created was wrong, that deregulation and low taxes create prosperity. Wrong, they do create a boom, but they loot the public wealth in the process and cheat the middleclass. They also pollute the environment and create an immoral atmosphere no better than a mafia world.
