t could just be a Korea, with only 10,000 US kids dead. 10,000 American dead is unlikely (I see it even exceeds your WAG by a lot), but I can't say it isn't possible. But your data on Korea is faulty. The official death toll is 54,246, but that includes all service member deaths at the time of the Korean War. In theater there where 33,686 battle deaths ,and 2830 non-battle deaths, for a total of 36516 deaths. The war lasted 3 years so the deaths per year where far greater than the average in Vietnam, and of course enormously greater than in Iraq. If things break bad in the Middle East, a distinct possibility, there is no telling. Could be much worse than Vietnam. Even if we invade Iran (and I don't think its going to happen) there is very little chance of the death totals being much worse than Vietnam. Also if we invade Iran, that would be "the war in Iran" not part of the Iraq war.
