The oil companies have been robbing us since June 2000, pal. And so have the other energy companies. Not coincidentally, this was the same time the first all-oil ticket was first nominated for president. Enron may have led the way, but Exxon and the rest followed immediately. They only paused their gouging for awhile after Jeffords switched parties and gave democrats subpoena powers to investigate Cheney's crooked Energy Task Force. This is all part of a trillion dollar ripoff which also includes devastation of any many environmental protections as possible. It is also the mentality that got us into the Iraq war. That was was about greed for oilfields.
