If the the facts upset your apple cart, I'm not sorry. They are after all just facts. I'm sure we would do just fine getting our crops harvested and our homes built by legal Americans. Here are some more statistics: Annual cost to the US for illegal immigrants: $16 billion Under the Hagel / Martinez Senate proposal to allow amnesty to those illegals here, would also allow for them to bring minor children, spouses and parents here. Safely estimate that to be "only" 3 additional folks for those currently illegally here, that now moves the annual cost to greater than $60 Billion ANNUALLY! And these cost are against our current medical and welfare systems and don't include the social cost via crimes from these folks. For instance, last year here in Denver, an illegal immigrant walked up behind 2 off-duty police officers (hired to patrol a party) and (for apparently no reason) shot one in the head and killed him and wounded the other officer. He fled to Mexico, Mexico agreed to extradition under the provision the the murderer could not be tried as a death penalty case. I'm sure the officer's widow is not a huge proponent of amnesty. Additionally under the bill, it would allow for 325,000 "guest' workers and their families access to our health care and welfare systems. Now I understand why you're upset, because I put this on the joke thread, it's not a joke it's sobering reality. I'm not sure how much "cheap" labor we can afford. As far a native Americans and their plight in America, it serves no use for me to be apologetic for a process that began 400 years before my birth. There are countless groups that have been persecuted throughout history, I'll not spend my time worrying something to which I had no control. I have an idea, since Mexicans don't seem concerned about their own country. How about they march to have Mexico become the 51st thru 60th state of the US? The amount of waste of resources and and all out corruption of that country is staggering. As John Kerry said many times: "...we could do better!" And with that country I'm positive we could. Flame away (but include a real joke next time). I'll not post again on this topic here. OJ: It was three o'clock in the morning, and the receptionist at a posh hotel was just dozing off, when a little old lady came running towards her, screaming. "Please come quickly!" she yelled, "I just saw a naked man outside my window!!!" The receptionist immediately rushed up to the old lady's room. "Where is he?" asked the receptionist. "He's over there," replied the little old lady, pointing to an apartment building opposite the hotel. The receptionist looked over and could see a man with no shirt on, moving around his apartment. "It's probably a man who's getting ready to go to bed," she said reassuringly. "And how do you know he's naked, you can only see him from the waist up?" "The dresser, honey!" screamed the old lady. "Try standing on the dresser!"
