Not sure I totally agree with that JDN....One of our in-family attorneys was recruited after law school, into one of the big law firms here....they work the kids like slaves....low salaries, and many many 18-20 hours days...but the hardest thing he learned is what happened from the inside when the firm represented insurance companies....particularly the medical, but other types as well. He simply couldn't stand how the average person is treated, when they are up against huge law firms and clients with very very deep pockets. He ended up leaving the law firm...and is in practice for himself. He represents the people like us. Yes, some of the people like us bring frivolous suits as well, but he doesn't take their cases..... Now where I do agree with you is the experience we had with one of our children....His former wife left, was going to go to a mediator, and the plan was she would leave the state and take the kids...Son wouldn't have known where she was, nor where the kids were. SHE took the money, cashed in his IRA with a forged signature (the divorce court doesn't really care about this...that's criminal court, and a whole bunch more money, so it didn't get resolved.---yet---true story)....we had to help him find and pay for a divorce attorney ....court costs and attorney fees were more than $65k!!! The only good thing out of the whole mess was we do know where the kids are, and he and we, are able to see them.... The whole process was unbelievable...
