I trust noone, but give credence only to the scientists who are not on the payrolls of corporations that produce greenhouse gases nor the foundations they bankroll.

Hello Claude:

I couldn't resist buying today...

Message 22452187

Am I brave as Wayne suggests or crazy, which worries me more? <LOL!> Can you recommend a retreat in rural Quebec where I might find a cure? I've tried Nicaragua but it doesn't work. <g>

Best regards,
Howy

Hi claude,

My son in law (SIL) says the great perponderance of atmospheric scientists believe we have global warming created by man. My SIL is pretty well regarded as Columbia University in England (where Stephen Hawkins is) recently interviewed him for a professor position).

I would say go with the majority thought. I will send this blog to my SIL, but he usually responds they are very pedestrian, simplistic and incorrect.

Don't people think these scientific guys who work so hard have taken this stuff into account?

Claude with all due respect: take a close look at that blog:

1) it is located in West Virgina-COAL!!! I'll bet a dime to a dollar that blog is supported by the coal industry. The head of Exxon denied there is any global warming--AND

all of the heads of the cigarette companies a few years ago denied cigarettes were addictive before congress and under oath! Same trip here.

2) look at the names: first bill clinton-he is a smart man:

"In the United States...we have to first convince the American People and the Congress that the climate problem is real."

former President Bill Clinton in a 1997 address to the United Nations

3 KOAN: NEXT LINDZEN: didn;t I say they always trot out Linzen. Here he is again. You can always find a nut if you look hard enough. He is using Bush's rationalization, addressing this subject will cost a lot of money. Who do you think he gets paid by? I have no evidence that he receives money from oil companies, but it sure smells smoky or political-lol.

LISTEN: Lindzin: "In the long run, the replacement of the precise and disciplined language of science by the misleading language of litigation and advocacy may be one of the more important sources of damage to society incurred in the current debate over global warming."

Dr. Richard S. Lindzen
(leading climate and atmospheric science expert- MIT) (3)

KOAN and here is Gray, as I would expect: and he is persona non grata the same way biologists who do not beleive in evolution are persona non grata! Or physicists who do not beleive in the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle are persona non grata.

"Researchers pound the global-warming drum because they know there is politics and, therefore, money behind it. . . I've been critical of global warming and am persona non grata."

Dr. William Gray
(Professor of Atmospheric Sciences at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado and leading expert of hurricane prediction )
(in an interview for the Denver Rocky Mountain News, November 28, 1999)

KOAN: That Gray is psersona non gratagray (implies he is in the minority) and Gray also refused to tie global warming to the hurricanes intensity when everone knows it is the heat of the gulf of Mexico that provides the jet fuel for the hurricanes. And 9 of the last 10 years have been the warmest on record.

KOAN: this is the perfect example of seeing a persons political bent, conservative vs liberal, taint ones thinking as regards the results of science. More conservatives than liberals discount global warming, and in fact more conservatives than liberals discount evolution in my observations.

Most fundamental religous people do not believe in evolution at all. Infact fully 50% of the population in the US does not believe in evolution. And evolution is not even a theory---it is fact!

Cheers,
