Democrats are for a strong, smart, efficient military, and we values each soldier's life. What we don't want is to exploit and abuse our military by letting some stupid, arrogant, inexperienced and corrupt commander in chief send troops into costly quagmires against enemies we don't even understand, and for goals which are either unrealistic or that the troops don't understand.

The Iraq War was so badly botched we as a people have learned a lesson. Or re-learned the same lesson from Vietnam.

I pity our troops in Iraq now. All they can do is try to survive until Bush is replaced or forced to change course. Kerry and Murtha are dead right about that mess, and so are all those retired generals. We need to get out ASAP.
