Yeah, appoint that sheriff of MARICOPA COUNTY in charge of southern border control and I bet he cleans it up in no time. Dressing them all up in pink underwear and putting them in tents ought to be sufficient to end the problem. I sure admire that guy. jdn

We AGREE on something Don! If Bush had deputized local law enforcement in his speech to deal with the problem and asked local citizens across the country to call the local police and report any local employers they knew of illegally employing illegal immigrants, then asked the police to investigate and deal with those reports, we might have taken a REAL first step to solving the problem.

Until no one here is offering the Mexicans jobs that pay more per hour than they make in a day in Mexico, they'll keep coming. At present, employers really face no conseqences for breaking the law.

With no jobs available, the Mexicans here will go home, and the ones planning to come will make new plans.
