Well, the use of the term "derangement" is hyperbole and obviously negative. I guess my point is that knee jerk criticism without assessment is a negative behavior. So what's wrong with calling it that? Perhaps this is just another facet of freedom fighter vs. terrorist, incident vs. massacre, etc. etc. I just don't happen to believe that everything has to be sanitized. Sometimes it's appropriate to be critical and to convey a negative attitude. As for passing for center, I'd have to look around to find a concrete example. My impression is that there are more posters who share your political persuasion such that the selection of articles and links favors that POV. As a consequence, the bar for appropriate language and criticism is lowered when it comes to partisanship on the left. But do I care? No. :-)
