I agree with the Macworld guy as well. $1k is a HUGE make/break line. Like you, I hope Apple really did its homework on the price and we're all wrong here, except the other people's money Suisse dood.

Single core is plenty for most people. iSight not needed. 12" screen is actually better for many people.

They could have easily gotten down under $1000 maybe even more without sacrificing too much. And thus gotten a lot more eyeballs considering switching.

$300 for no more viruses ever is reasonable.

Am I imagining things again or did Apple come out with something recently (within the past year or so) and then dropped the price around $100?

If the price points of the little laptops are too high I think Apple will adjust.

Still trying to figure out the $200 difference for Black & 20 GB though. I might pay $50, but $200?? Shessh.
