You are wasting your time "discussing" Vietnam with American Spirit.

Probably.

Their is absolutely no hard evidence that Kennedy had any intention of withdrawing American troops from Vietnam.

The point I have been making is narrow. Even if there was hard evidence of a plant to withdraw troops or end the war, it wouldn't make the fact of the earlier escalation cease to be a fact.

During Kennedy's tenure, the number of U.S. troops in Vietnam grew from 900 to 16,000.

Thank you for the specific information.

"Kennedy was a transitional president. He may have had the potential for greatness, but we will never know."

That sounds like it could be blasphemy to the many idolitors of JFK.
