The scary part is the lack of dual-core K8L on the roadmap.

Over the last decade, AMD has never released a major core family ahead of early roadmap projections. Instead, it was often late, sometimes by years. You might recall how much later Sledgehammer was compared to the early roadmaps for it. I think it was easily 2 years late. Of course, the K8L was once the K9, then the K10, now the K8L.

Its a little like Jerry's and now Hector's elusive 30% marketshare. It is always 2-3 years in the future.

Both AMD and Charlie are saying H107 for K8L.

'AMD said the new architecture would be available in the first half of 2007.'

'BTW, have you heard any rupors on what part of H1 K8L might be released in. is it just a target / hope that it makes June 30, or is it set for earlier?'

Mid-Q2 last I heard, and that was in the last month. Since it should have taped out by now, I am fairly confident of that number.

Yikes, if Rev G is certainly not K8L, then AMD is in big doo-doo. I think Kanter was just mistaken, or Moore, as he's done before, was talking about his team's *internal dates*, like finishing the design. He did that with respect to 90nm Rev E or Rev D (I forget) features, back in early 2004, I think, in a presentation. Refered to stuff being "done" or "finished" that didn't appear for over 1 year.
