At least you can find some good even in opponents. JFK did defuse the Cuban Missile crisis. His shameful abandonment of brave patriots that attempted to liberate Cuba from the tyrant was one of his dark moments.

But they already had the missiles there, and still do, probably rusted out by now, but still aimed at the US.
