Can someone explain to me how this Conroe (Cornholio) has suddenly become the holy grail? How did they design a chip that is so much faster than an Athlon and runs on less juice? Or is this another case of Phunny benckmarkitis?

Magrathea,

Adding one to possible upsides:
- AMD demonstrates QC Opteron

It is very probable, since AMD promised that it would happen around mid year. It will most likely be Socket F, and as far as cores, either:
- 90nm K8
- 65nm K8 shrink
- 65nm K8L

Does anybody want to assign probabilities of which version of QC will be demonstrated?

How about a poll? The question is what will be AMD's first QC processor:
a) 90nm K8
b) 65nm K8 shrink
c) 65nm K8L
d) something else
